23rd European Championships in Acrobatic Gymnastics

Once again Great Britian proved itself as one of the strongest forces in the World in Acrobatic Gymnastics during the recent European Championships at the Maaspoort Sports & Events centre in S'Hertogenbosch, Holland.

There were delegations from Armenia, Belgium, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Great Britain, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland, to name but a few!

Women’s Pairs: Elizabeth Oliver & Katie Axten from Spelthorne
Men’s Pairs: Mark Fyson & Chris Jones from Deerness Valley
Mixed Pairs: Nicholas Illingworth & Sarah Cameron from Wakefield
Women’s Groups: Emily Grove, Casey Morrison & Victoria Lamkin from Spelthorne

Men’s Groups: Adam McAssey, Adam Buckingham, Alex Uttley & Sam Sturt from Spelthorne

In the Team competitions GBR picked up both the Senior and Junior Silver medals losing out admirably to the mighty Russian delegation to both titles, which is a fair defeat!
Over all GB picked up 3 Gold, 7 Silvers and 4 Bronze medals and definitly made a mark on the World of Acrobatics- Bring on the Worlds in USA 2008!
