Yet another high quality showcase of acrobatic gymnastics from across the world! This World Cup Final was the conclusion to the 2005-2007 World Cup series in acrobatic gymnastics that included two other World Cup's in Puurs in 2005 and 2006.
50 athletes from 9 countries, Belarus, Belgium, Great Britain, Lithunia, Poland, Portugal, Russia, the Ukraine, and the U.S.A. qualified. However, there was no men's group competition due to a lack of participants. In addition, there was no formal ceremony for the women's pair event as only three pairs from two countries competed, and thus, no medals distributed. China also did not compete.
It was a competition full on controvosy, with a Russian Trio (Ekaterina Stroynova and Ekaterina Loginova associated with their new acrobat Anastasia Chistyakova) refused to be officially measure and the FIG decided to penalize the trio by 1.00 pt for each exercise of the trio in accordance with the FIG Code of Points.
In the end, Russia and Belarus took two gold medal place each. The highest finishing British Acrobats were mens pair, Mark Fyson and Christopher Jones, coming in 4th place.
